Job Title: Technical Theater Staff with Lighting Emphasis
Duration of Position: June 10 - August 6, 2025
Camp operates on a 7-day per week schedule. Staff will be expected to work frequent nights and weekends, including long days during productions. Time off will be scheduled around the demands of the program.
Position Description:
- Assist Technical Director in preparation and execution of nightly performances.
- Help with all aspects of technical production throughout the summer season including audio, lighting, rigging, scenic, and video production in two venues: a 600 seat, state-of-the-art theater and a 300 seat auditorium.
- Work with middle and high school students running technical equipment and assist in daily classes during camp.
- General assistance and overseeing of the technical aspects of camp daily operations.
- Assist with load-ins, strikes, technical rehearsals and performances as needed.
- Assist with execution of the summer musical and teaching the technical theater track of that program.
Lighting Specific Tasks:
- Design and execute the lighting plan/design for the 2025 Musical Theater Camp production of Spongebob the Musical
Required Experience:
- A background in lighting design is required
- Familiarity with ETC Ion and ETC Element

- Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work space.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs and handle extensive standing, walking, and step-climbing.
- Positive attitude and an earnest interest in providing good customer service.
Compensation:
- Stipend of $4,800
- Shared dormitory-style room on campus from the evening of June 10th through the morning of August 6
- Board on campus from June 19th through August 6
- Access to the Hames Center (on campus fitness facility)
Travel: Staff are responsible for their own travel

- All staff are expected to maintain a drug, tobacco, and alcohol free environment while around students and will not store drugs, tobacco, or alcohol on campus.

Therefore, campers are not allowed to use cell phones to camp. While employees are allowed to use cell phones on campus, usage must remain limited, discrete, and in the spirit of the SFAC’s objectives with the student environment. Employee cell phones should always remain in silent mode or off, stored away from view, and may not be used during work times or when interacting with or around campers. Cell phone usage is limited to time off and breaks away from campers
